SOAR - Student Opportunities for After-School Resources

SOAR is an after-school tutoring program that provides literacy support and homework help to Latina/o emergent bilingual/biliterate students in grades 3-8 by pairing them one-on-one with students from the University of Illinois. Each semester approximately 100 dedicated and enthusiastic university students from a wide variety of academic majors volunteer their time weekly to provide academic support to program participants. SOAR is a collaboration between the College of Education and the Champaign Unit 4 School District that takes place at Garden Hills Academy, 2001 Garden Hills Dr. Champaign, IL 61821. The program takes place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45 pm - 4:15pm.
